Our Tutors
Rachel has over 10 years of experience tutoring students how to read from the Torah. Growing up at Adath Jeshurun synagogue in Elkins Park, PA, and working in their Torah Reading Program, she learned how to chant from the Torah as well as instruct others. Rachel attended Camp Ramah in the Poconos for many years as both a camper and a staff member and was also involved in her synagogue's youth group chapter. After graduating with a BA in Communications from Muhlenberg College (Allentown, PA) Rachel moved to Los Angeles where Jewish involvement remains an important part of her life.
Jacob has been an avid Torah reader for 15 years. He has experience in all types of Jewish Education, and really enjoys watching his students develop and learn. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland in College Park, and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Besides tutoring, Jacob enjoys playing piano and pursing his love of music.
Adena specializes in assisting with speech writing and public speaking skills. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a broadcast journalism degree, and earned her master's degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She has taught around the world, working with students from age three through adult, and has worked in Jewish education for ten years. Adena loves to travel, spend time with her friends, and pursue various athletic and artistic pursuits.
